Charitable gifts and grants promote diversity and support students
WesternU received multiple gifts and grants that will support students, attract a more diverse student body and equip faculty with high-tech learning tools.
FamilyCare donation
FamilyCare Inc. will donate $22.5 million to WesternU for a new behavioral health college
Western University of Health Sciences will receive a $22.5 million donation from FamilyCare, Inc., the largest gift in the University’s 45-year history. The donation will help WesternU expand the COMP-Northwest campus and launch a behavioral health college in Lebanon, Oregon. Dr. Jeff Heatherington, president of FamilyCare Health and president and CEO of The Heatherington Foundation for Innovation and Education in Health Care, said the Heatherington Foundation will donate 150 acres of land to WesternU to build the new campus.

WesternU CHS-Northwest awarded M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Pediatric and Rural Health Care Services Grant
WesternU's College of Health Sciences (CHS)-Northwest received a $673,000 grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust of Vancouver, Washington, to support its physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) programs in Lebanon, Oregon. The funding will help CHS-Northwest provide hands-on educational opportunities through authentic learning experiences and provide health care services to rural and underserved communities.
